Sheila Johansen, CSW

Sheila earned her bachelor’s in Psychology from Boise State University in 2000 and completed her master’s in Social Work from Utah State University.  For many years, Sheila has advocated for the wellbeing of women and adolescents both professionally and on a volunteer basis. Most recently, Sheila worked in a school setting empowering adolescents with strategies to improve their mental health.  She currently focuses her work helping adolescents (15+) and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, suicide ideation, self-harm, trauma, and family conflict. She is also passionate about working with post-partum and women’s mental health, as well as helping others navigate the complexities of self-esteem, parenting, and relationships.

Sheila believes the human experience encompasses a full range of emotions and experiences, some of which can be difficult to understand or process. Whether seeking healing, clarity or a complete change of course, her goal is to help clients discover their own strengths and self-worth, and to view themselves as resilient individuals, capable of the change they seek. Sheila finds great satisfaction in connecting with clients in a way that instills hope, promotes personal growth and relieves suffering.
