Evelyn Gutierrez, CSW

Evelyn earned her master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Kentucky in 2022. In 2019, she earned her Bachelor’s of Social Work from Weber State University. Within her undergrad and graduate program, Evelyn gained experience in the mental health sector by serving her internship at the Division of Child and Family Services and completing her practicum at the Ogden City School District. With her education, she was able to obtain employment for the past 5 years serving adolescents in the school sector as a case manager and as a community school coordinator. Currently, Evelyn also serves as a crisis worker at the University of Utah to help individuals in crisis, specifically with suicidality.

For her scope of practice, she enjoys working with adolescents and young adults as they try to overcome milestones that require change and growth. Evelyn understands that as humans we are constantly evolving as our systems, peers, and life circumstances impact our values and identity. Her goal is to listen to you, connect with you, and empower you no matter who you are or what your life’s story entails. During sessions, Evelyn will focus on implementing various techniques from evidenced-based treatments that will best suit your needs. Currently, she has been trained in utilizing techniques used in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing techniques, and Managing Suicide Risk: Collaborative Safety Planning and Counseling on Access to Lethal Means.
