Erin is a Certified Social Worker who has spent the last four years working as a mental health professional. She received her BS degree from Brigham Young University in marriage family and human development and a minor in music in 2006. She completed her Master of Social Work degree from Utah State University in 2023. Erin has been a mindfulness instructor since 2019 and completed training at the Brown University School of Public Health to become a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Level 1 Instructor in 2022. Erin worked as a psychotherapist at Davis Behavioral Health in Adult Mental Health Outpatient for her final graduate school practicum.
Erin has taught mindfulness classes to adolescents in schools and currently teaches MBSR to adults at the Davis Mindfulness Center. Erin is actively involved in community prevention and education efforts, including bringing Learning to Breathe mindfulness classes to students in the Davis School District and recording meditations for the Learning to Breathe app.
Erin is the keynote presenter at the Rest in Radiance Retreat, a women’s retreat that focuses on mindfulness, mental health principles, and drawing near to Jesus Christ.
Erin believes that “Peace is not the absence of conflict, but the ability to cope with it” (Mahatma Gandhi) and that a healthy life is filled with a variety of experiences and emotions. Erin helps empower clients with perspective and tools to more skillfully navigate life’s challenges and live in alignment with their inner values. Erin currently focuses her work helping adolescents (11+) and adults experiencing anxiety, stress, overwhelm, depression, self-harm, and family conflict. Erin utilizes interventions that she has found helpful in her own life, including mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy Skills (DBT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).
